Interrailing around Europe

my friends and I are planning a trip around Europe for 22 days, this is our route:

Paris, Bern, Venice, Split, Sarajevo, Sofia, Istanbul, Sofia, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Bruges London

We plan to stay in hostels when we go and have a rough idea of price, but we are a little unsure how much to budget in total for this kind of trip.

Do you have any tips and advice of places to see/how best to allocate our money that would be great/ would we be able to use euro currency in countries such as Bulgaria and Turkey, despite them having alternative currencies as this helps with getting a prepaid card that is euro specific.

Any help and feedback would be great!!

You will need to consult various websites for the rail costs as your interrail pass will not include the reservations which are compulsory for some of the sections of your journey and may not be valid at all on others. Any reservation fees are additional to the cost of your pass and in some extreme cases may be more expensive that the cost of a ticket purchased in advance.

In a number of instances it is not possible to arrange reservations using a pass except by actually going to the railway station.

Some random comments :

London to Paris and Bruges - London - reservations are compulsory on Eurostar and passholders often pay more than the cheapest €39 fare.

Paris to Bern - reservations are compulsory for all trains.

Split to Sarajevo is probably best done by bus as the rail route is very roundabout and horribly slow.

Eastern Europe generally - a lot of the trips are I would think at night and reservations will be needed.

You are best asking for tips etc about each locality in the relevant forum. You may find someone here who has done the lot, but this is a train travel forum and probably not the best place to seek detailed local knowledge.

'Any help and feedback would be great!!' - 13 destinations in 22 days!

Other than the insides of your modes of transport are you expecting to see or do anything in these destinations, before you almost immediately have to move on?

Yes, there a lot of cities in that itinerary, and a LOT of travelling! Luke, are you merely interested in looking at the scenery out of the window of the train?!
