Go to French Polynesia for a couple of weeks. It'll break the bank, but it's worth it. Maybe 3-4 days on Moorea, 3-4 days on Bora Bora, and pick a third Island (Huahine, Manihi) for another 3-4 days. You can get good package deals out of LAX. Your requirements are kind of broad though - better think about getting more specific.

ps: Maldives are in the Indian Ocean

My family go absolutely nuts for the Cook Islands. They've done most slands in that area but go back here time & again. And Fiji.

Have a fab time & congrats on your 25 years!

The advantage of the Cook Islands is that our sccenery is unspoilt, stunning, safe, friendly, and low development with a small population. Oh, and since we use NZ dollars for our currency, our prices won't break the bank to enjoy the good life.

Air NZ flies directly from LAX on a Sunday night, arrives Rarotonga early Monday morning. Very good beachfront accommodation around the island - everything from budget to 5 star luxury villas with personal chef. Aitutaki located 130 miles north of the capital Rarotonga is truly the island of dreams. The Pacific Resort is consistently a TA boutique hotel winner. Aitutaki Lagoon Resort has over-water bungalows and the best island views. Nice dining options on both islands. Scenery wise the reef fringed lagoons are excellent for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. Deep sea fishing is popular for marlin and tuna. Hiking across the islands, touring by rental cars, or with specialist tour companies. Polynesian entertainment at night, or just enjoy some supreme Kiwi wines and fabulous Pacific rim cuisine. Air Tahiti flies from Papeete to Raro, Air NZ & Pacific Blue offer frequent return flights to NZ. Have a look at www.airnewzealand.com for holidays and accommodation guides.

Cheers - kia manuia.
