Mobile network fr USA

We r a family frm India travelling to USA in July . Kindly advice which is,The best mobile network wit India calling rates.

Normally, when we go abroad, we buy a sim at the airport itself, as it has special features for foreigners. This Sim is not avl in open market. Is the case same in US ?

Kindly advice,

There are only two primary GSM networks in the US - AT&T and T-Mobile. AT&T usually is best if you plan on using data, since their frequencies are compatible with most of the world. T-Mobile uses different frequencies for 3G, so with older phones you don't get high speed data unless they were specifically designed for T-Mobile.

Both carriers have their own stores, and sell through third party mobile distributors. Knowing your arrival airport would help to point you to a buying location.

Neither carrier is going to offer an attractive calling rate to India. You would be better off also getting a calling card where you can call India inexpensively either from your mobile with a U.S. SIM or a pay phone.
