Trip Review 2014 Roadtrip 2370 miles

We left Pueblo, Colorado on our Harley and here is our review and highlights. Our itinerary as follows.

day 1: April 23

Pueblo, Colorado to Holbrook, Az. I -25 south to Albuquerque to I-40 West ran across some real wind on I-40 and was cold going through Santa Fe. In Holbrook we stayed at a Quality Inn with Jerry's Restaurant next door, we had dinner there and was pretty good.

Day 2 April 24

On to Laughlin,Nv. there is a River Run Rally every year the weekend after Easter. Stayed at the Edgewater. Party time!! Had a lot of good music and beers, some Patron shots and..drum roll..

a $4595.00 hand pay win at the Colorado Belle..on a penny machine.Went on to win $1000 on a Wheel of Fortune. Ate at the Colorado Belle buffet, not a lot of selection, but what they had was really good. We stay in Laughlin until Sunday morning, the rest of the time was with friends and just relaxed and partied.

Day 6 April 28:

On to Lake Havasu

On 95 South to Lake Havasu, We have family there so stayed 1 night with them and had a really good dinner at The Montana Steak house.

Day 7 April 29

Now we are just the 2 of us and headed to Tucson, still on 95 south to Yuma , Az. Lots growing down there..We have lunch at the Three Guys Burgers and it was awesome, a chain restaurant we had not tried. We then head on the Interstate 8 East and on in to Tucson.

We stayed at The Best Western on Stone St. Downtown..Nice Hotel also with a attached Bar/Restaurant. We stay here for 2 nites. My reason for Tucson was the Gallery in the Sun Art Gallery and Museum , garden, by Ted DeGrazia. Just awesome place and we spent about 2 hours . Had to buy some art and shipped it home.Had lunch at the El Charro Café, the oldest Mexican Restaurant in the US they told us..really good food.

Day 9 April 30

Now we head out of Tucson on I-10 East and at Benson We get on 80 South to Tombstone. We decide to stay here 1 night at the Miller Mercantile and Hotel. What a really great call for us..It's

Wednesday 2 bars have Karaoke and the Husband is a singer. The Hotel is right on Main St. more of a B & B 4 rooms with a shared Living Room and Kitchen and a right on Balcony overlooking Main St.!! We had such a blast!

Day 10 May 1

Here we take off from Tombstone back to I-10 and up to Highway 191, an Arizona Bi-way. It got real tricky then. we had no idea we would be on a really curvey, lots of switchbacks and otherwise really tuff mountain road. We passed by a really huge mining operation at Clifton with a sign that read "scenic overlook" we looked out at the total destruction of a Mountain, really rather offending to me. Our light at the end of a tunnel was to pull into Alpine, Az. and find a room at a totally awesome B & B..the Alpine Inn..check-out my review of this wonderful place.

Day 11 May 2

Take off out of Alpine on Highway 60 East, we are headed to Santa Fe, to I-25 and on into Santa Fe. We were hell bent on staying on the Plaza so got a room at the Chimayo Inn on the plaza, had dinner at the "Shed" a well known Santa Fe Restaurant and for good reason. Jazz in the Hotel Lounge (great Jazz w/ Miranda singing..awesome) to top off our evening.

Day 12 May 3

Back home again !! Hope you enjoyed this trip report and here's to our 2014 Road Trip, 2370 miles on the Harley, not 1 bad Hotel, meal, experience, all good!!

Hi Sandi.

Enjoyed your report and congrats on the $4.6k hand pay and another grand on a WoF!!. What was your total bet for the handpay?

We have won a couple on penny slots in Vegas at about 80 cents a spin, but nothing that large............way to go!

We stayed at that BW last time in Tucson, it's not bad at all, had some good local brews in the bar I recall.

Thanks, again, for your fun TR. Love your reports, always, you have such fun trip. So did you blow all your winnings on the art you bought in Tucson? I great memento, if so!
