Traveling from Lincoln NE to Glacier National Park...Looking for Scenic Route with two and a half days to make it there. Thanks
Going up thru the eastern face of the Rockies is beautiful ranch land and the interesting small town of Choteau, MT. That route will put you on the east side of Glacier NP.
As a sde trip in Choteau you can see David lettermans ranch....
I would drive through south Dakota black hills then to great falls...this is about 16 hrs driving with rapid city the rough mid point.
Think it's more like 20 hours for the drive.
Roughly 1300 miles...not much time for sight seeing but..definitely go to Glacier via Chief Joseph hwy and Beartooth hwy. 2 gorgeous drives especially the Beartooth hwy..second night spend in Red Lodge Montana,a gem of a town if ever. If time permitting and passports available definitely would add gorgeous Waterton Lakes NP in Canada, only 50 or so miles from the eastern entrance of Glacier (St Marys).
Another option is to take us83 aka Road to Nowhere north to Minot and us2 aka Great Northern hw into Glacier.
