2 week road trip from SLC to LV

We are a family of 6 planning a trip for mid August with an RV. I would appreciate any thoughts on the following itinerary to see if I should make any changes to route or RV park reservations. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Day 1 - arrival SLC, take RV and drive to Moav (stay at PORTAL RV PARK)

Day 2 - Arches NP (stay at PORTAL RV PARK)

Day 3 - Canyonlands NP (stay at PORTAL RV PARK)

Day 4 - Extra day for Moav area (stay at PORTAL RV PARK)

Day 5 - Drive to monument valley with stops along the way (stay at Goulding)

Day 6 - monument valley guided tour and continue to Page (no RV park reservations yet)

Day 7 - Antelope canyon guided tours (no RV park reservations yet)

Day 8 - drive to GCNR (stay at Kaibab Camper Village - no reservation yet) with stops along the way

Day 9 - GCNR (stay at Kaibab Camper Village)

Day 10 - Drive to Bryce NP (stay at Rubys Inn)

Day 11 - Bryce NP (stay at Rubys Inn)

Day 12 - Drive to Zion NP (stay at Zion Camp)

Day 13 - Zion NP (stay at Zion Camp)

Day 14 - early morning drive to LV and return RV

Very well planned. I'm not an RVer but can recommend Wah Weap Campground in Page. Definitely make your reservations there and also for NR if it's not too late already. Not sure why you want to stay at Rubys Inn instead camping at Bryce. Keep an eye on he timedifferences. You'll gain one hour between Monument Valley and Page, lose one hour between NR and Bryce and gain one hour between Zion and Las Vegas.

You'll need an escort for the RV through Zion Mt carmerl tunnel between Bryce and Zion.

(I've copied this post from the duplicate thread so as to keep everything in one place)

Looks great! A couple of recommendations in the Moab area, in addition to what you've got planned:

Dead Horse Point State Park (a diversion off the road to Canyonlands) - a wonderful view of a bend of the Colorado River far below.

UT128, northeast from Moab (sometimes called the Colorado Riverway) - runs alongside the river with huge sandstone bluffs on either side, well worth doing a least a part of this road then turn around back to Moab.

You'll be visiting a lot of national parks so it would be worth purchasing the "America the Beautiful" annual pass at the first park:

http://www.nps.gov/findapark/passes.htm

That will get in to all the US national parks and all (or very nearly all) the national monuments. However, it will not gain you entry to any state parks.

Your plan has matured a lot ! That first day is yet too full to expect to leave the SLC area... I suggest renting a large sedan or small van, from a off airport agency, and lodging in a suite, (with cooking facility) Motel. THEN, go shopping ! Start at a local Deseret Industries Thrift store and buy light weight sleeping bags for all ... Select used but serviceable bath supplies towels ect, also kitchen and dining ware... As you may not be able to transport a lot of wardrobe by air ... out fit all with a change or two of camping & hiking clothes and shoes...This will cut down on the self service laundry stops enroute ... THEN, go food shopping ! cook the evening meal at the motel ... the next day, with supplies aboard, to equip the motorhome to actually live in it, THEN, go to the rental agency ... and while you or the driver, does the "paperwork" and has the operating systems of the coach explaned in detail ...the rest of the family can"move in" to the unit ... finding storage for clothes supplies and food.... THEN, Go into camp at a local RV park to practice your new found skills at "hooking up" the coach ... Should you have problems you can return to the agency next day,for further instruction or correction of non operating systems ... THEN, start the ROAD TRIP and enjoy ! carracar
