here we go again

I have now looked at the route again and require some additional advice from the experts out there

As advised we will stay at an airport hotel as we land at LAX on the 15th Sept at 12.30 and don't want to hit rush hour

15 LAX airport

16 Joshua tree

17 death valley

18 SEKI

19 Yosemite

20 Yosemite

21 Lake Tahoe

22 Lake Tahoe

23 Lassen Volcanic Park

24 Redwoods

25 Monterey

26 Cambria

27 Santa Barbara

28 LA

We have until the 2nd October when we fly home with maybe two or three days in LA we have a little time to play with

The issue is there is two very long drives DV to SEKI and Redwoods to Monterey any suggestions

Is this route in the correct order

We don't want to visit either LV or SF as we have been there on previous trips

Yes, it's in the correct order. You have very little time for Death Valley this way but that's your choice. You can drive from Death Valley to Seki in one day if you wish but also little time there. You can gain one night by driving from Cambria to LA with only a lunch stop in Santa Barbara.

I'm not you ;-) DW and are big fans of the desert and easliy could spend more time in Joshua Tree/Death Valley NP. If you want to go to Kings Canyon you also need another day and more time for Redwood/Avenue of the Giants is also recommended. Monterey is worth to spend 2 nights and last year we stayed 3 nights in Cambria...

From Yosemite drive Tioga rd (120) that will end at Lee Vining and you'll see Mono Lake. Then 395 north to Lake Tahoe.

Have you thought about a stop at Bodie State Park on your drive between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe? It's a fascinating ghost town and well worth the time.

16 Joshua Tree

25 Redwoods

26 drive day down 101

27 Monterey

28 Big Sur

We fly home on the 2nd October what is the eastern sierras. Where would we fit in Cambria would that be instead of Santa Barbara as we want to visit Hearst castle
