Being an aussie and having never been to the US before, I'm going on my honeymoon to the US and driving from Fort Worth across to San Francisco.
Due to the constraints of time, it's looking like I'll have to choose which of the following days I will have to cross out. It's basically out of scrapping an overnight on the drive along Highway 1 up the coast of CA to San Fran, or an overnight in Bluff UT on the drive between Santa Fe and Monument Valley.
Itinerary is basically as follows:
Fort Worth - Amarillo
Amarillo - Santa Fe
Stay in Santa Fe another night
Santa Fe - Bluff
Bluff - Monument Valley
Monument Valley - Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon - Indio
Indio - Cambria
Cambria - Santa Cruz?
Santa Cruz - San Francisco
So it's either extending the drive from 1) Bluff to go all the way to MV, which I understand isn't that much longer, but I do want to get to MV in plenty of time to see the sun set, as well as check out Goosenecks NP, Moki Dugway, Four Corners monument etc or 2) extending the drive from Cambria all the way to San Francisco.
There's nothing in particular I want to see along the road trip on the coast to San Fran, the drive and the coastline in general will be fantastic, but there are a few stops (like Goosenecks, Mexican Hat, 4 Corners etc) en route to MV.
Any suggestions as to what I should do?
