> So you arent getting jobs during a recession? <
No particularly, no. A bunch of huge multinational building firms are getting a load of migrant workers.
> You arent getting massive infrastructure investment? <
London is paying for some upgrades to some of the transport facilities, but not much. I've discounted that from the £600 per ticket subsidy.
> You arent getting a huge amount of housing? <
Some builders are building some houses designed for the Olympic village that would have been better designed for their end purpose. If there were a market for houses elsewhere, I'm sure they;d be built there, too. These houses aren't charity.
> You arent getting million in additional tourist revenue? <
Almost certainly not. At best, we'll see a displacement in tourist revenue from other periods. London's tourist revenue hadn't decreased during the recession.
> You arent getting top class sports venues which will get major championships in future <
Who cares? We don't need them. Put them somewhere else in the country.
> You arent getting new local sport facilities? <
> any other city would love to have all of the above. <
Then have them. Increase the taxes on your residents to pay for them, and reduce the spending on other things.
