Another reason to abandon the Olympic Lane nonsense.

And I see there was an announcement last week that the "Olympic lanes" are for the "VIPs", not the athletes.

Quite - so they don't need dedicated road routes to get them where they need to be. It's just for the convenience of the bigwigs who are too posh to mix the rest of us. As a result, Londoners trying to go about their normal days get inconvenienced even more.
