Holiday for my widowed Mum and I

I am looking for a 7 day holiday in July for my Mum and I. We would like somewhere in Europe where it is not too hot and quite flat as Mum has slight walking difficulties. We prefer somewhere not too busy but with a bit of life and some shops to browse. Mum is in her 8os and I am in my 50s. Hope you can give me some suggestions.

Hi Pam.

If your Mum and you donn't mind coach travel, have a look on....

My wife and I have been on a few of them.

Pam, another idea may be to take a look at river cruising. A few of the river boats have elevators if needed. They usually dock within the towns so you can browse at will.

The Costa del Sol is good..long flat prom to walk on. by the sea. Good eating out, also very good day trips at reasonable prices.Have a look at the Benalamadena forums . The trains are a good way of getting around too and good value

Try looking at Santa Eularia in Ibiza, a quiet little town with a blue flag beach and flat promenade. Some nice shops and cafes and a splendid marina with restaurants etc. Can thoroughly recommend the Ses Estaques hotel (Thomson Gold -so no children ) where you can either join in the activities or do your own thing.Excellent evening shows at the hotel if you want to sit and relax after dinner. Friendly staff and all round a good old seaside holiday like they used to be.We went at the end of the season so not sure what June will be like but we liked it enough to go back for 2 weeks in May.
