Finding a travel companion or group

I am in my early 60's and love to travel. Have been all over the world many times, except to Africa (aside from visiting Egypt, that is). My husband is a less enthusiastic traveler, and more and more often resists the idea of going. The time seems to be coming when he will refuse to go at all.

I would like to find/join a travel club that helps single travelers find a companion to travel with, to a variety of places, sort of like those ride-sharing boards at college. I am fit, lift weights, go hiking and biking, climbing, etc. I am not ready to stay home and sit on the porch yet!

I have always traveled independently, making my own itinerary and reservations. I enjoy the adventure, and like everything from good hikes to museums. Can someone suggest a venue for matching interests with another traveler or travelers?

I was divorced many years ago and Love to travel. My problem was solved by finding 'small group' escorted tours. While not the ideal solution for me I have traveled to 22 countries and 300+ cities since. You just need to find friendly couples or singles in the group and they ultimately become future travel companions :) I've had good success with Adventures Abroad, Churchill Nature Tours, Travel Dream West, Adventures Alaska, Scottish Dream Tours and a host of others. Sharing a room isn't in the cards for me, I'll pay the supplement as I don't sleep well and would drive someone else Crazy! But it is nice to have someone to share free time and not included meals with. I am an On the Go type of person and if need be have learned to 'just do it' if there is someplace off the itinerary I want to do and no one in the group is interested. Feel free to message me if you like to talk :)

Hi

I was planning on going to Asia this November but have been let down by my travelling companion so I am looking for someone else to go on holiday with. I do not need (or want) to spend every minute of the day with somone else but I do dislike eating an evening meal on my own. I would like to go somewhere warm but not so hot that travelling and walking are uncomfortable.

I am also interested in short breaks, either in this country or abroad and this might be a good way to see if we are compatible

I am a divorced retired teacher in my 50s with 2 daughters and 2 grandsons living in E. London. If you think we might get on and would like to meet up please email me.

Thank you for taking the time to read this
