motel/hotel on the route from LAX to San Diego with pet

We are flying into LAX arriving later in the evening. Want to find basic accomodations somewhere south of the airport as we are driving to San Diego the following day. Any suggestions?

There are several chains that are pet friendly - I believe La Quinta and Motel 6 are two. I'd research what chains are pet friendly and then search the reviews for those hotels here on TA. Never been to that area myself to can't help.

Just go to one of the major travel chains, such as Expedia or Hotels.com and check off pet friendly hotels under amenities. In the greater LA area we have stayed at one of the Hiltons and LaQuinta. (You can then book direct with the hotel if you prefer.)

Note that it may say conditions apply. Sometimes that refers to weight (e.g. under 50 pounds) and other times it refers to paying a deposit or a fee per night. Be sure to clarify this before you book. (La Quinta usually doesn't have a weight limit.)

If you may have to cancel for any reason, be sure to find out if your reservation is refundable. I just booked by phone with Expedia and not until after payment was done did the agent say it was nonrefundable.
