My wife has decided that tomorrow we are going to pick cherries. So we are going to get in the car and drive 45 minutes to a farm so we can pick them. Because as we all know, they taste a lot better when you pick them yourself.

Wild asparagus season just finished. Now it's cherries and wild strawberries in abundance! New garden potatoes and peas are excellent.

OK. So we drove over an hour (GPS took us the long way) to the Farm. Where we became unpaid farm workers, and picked our own cherries. We then paid $3 lb for the cherries we picked ($10 for 3 1/2 lb). I believe they are on sale at our local grocery for $1.99 lb.

Another of our shrewd business dealings! lol

Haha! I know the feeling!

Picked wild and domestic cherries today (for free). A friend said her single cherry tree produced 108 kg of cherries one year. Unreal. Cherry trees are absolutely laden with fruit but apparently not producing as much as usual.

Chef: We have the same thing here. It is not a good year for cherries. The crop isn't as abundant as usual. It appears the unusually mild Winter has affected both quantity and quality of the crop.

After a couple of weeks of the season here, we passed a number of farms that were already closed to the public.
