Italy family trip

Hello everyone,

My husband, 7 yr old daughter and I, are headed to Europe in July and we have 8 full days (not including airport days) to spend. I was considering Florence, Pisa, & Cinque Terre.

Can anyone help with ideas on other places near those to visit?

One other idea is Naples, Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi...

Which would be a better itinerary? I know July is high season especially in some of those locations but this is when we can go so we will roll with the crowds..

Thank you!!

I wouldn't say one is " better" than the other ...

Visiting north of Rome, as in Florence and the Cinque Terre idea is wonderful...

With only 8 days though, personally Id give Pisa a miss.. not much to see other than the Tower and it will be crowded...

Id add Venice instead, much more interesting!

Naples and The Amalfi Coast, south of Rome also a great idea...

Its your choice entirely...

To help decide, research all the places you can...

The more you know, the better youll be able to decide where you really want to go.

Travel Guide books are excellent and easy to get from your local library.

YouTube has exceptional Travel videos of every destination you can imagine and theyre really fun to watch as a family. They will inspire and entertain you all. You can see what the Destination looks like before you choose

After you have more information and some specific questions, ld recommend you post directly to Tripadvisors " DESTINATION" Forum section for Italy itself, choosing the local Forums for Florence, Cinque Terre, Naples ( whatever you like) etc so the local Destination Experts for those locations can give you the feedback only members in the know can.

They post on their own Tripadvisor Forums daily, and almost never look here on this general " travelling with children" Forum, which is not specific information about any location

Heres a direct link to Tripadvisors Italy Destination Forums for you

You"ll be able to access all of the individual Forums for all of the cities/regions from there and will see the sub Forums for Florence, Venice, Amalfi etc so you can choose the one/s you want specifically

Thank you for the response! We went to Venice and Rome (amazing) a few years back so I'm trying to find the next best locations without spending too much time in the airport.

I will do more research and post on those forums.

Thx again!!

It is easy to rail to places like Orvieto, Lucca or Siena.

These are most interesting destinations and each unique.
