Ideas needed for family Reunion Destination

Initial stages of planning for a Summer 2013 family reunion for about 30+ people ages 1-70. People will be traveling from both coasts so it could be anywhere in US or maybe an island. Original thoughts are renting large vacation home--or 2 side by side if possible. Resort hotel also a strong possibility. Would like it in an area with some activities for kids. Some thoughts brought up by family were S. California or Outer Banks. Anyone have resort ideas that could accommodate? maybe even somewhere in the middle? Thanks.

There are plenty of destinations where you can rent multiple homes or condos.

YMCA of the Rockies (though most likely booked)

Rocky Mountain National Park

Hilton Head

Callaway Gardens Resort, Georgia

Sun Valley, Idaho

Snowmass Village, Colorado

San Diego

Orlando

Oregon Coast (ie; Seaside, Cannon Beach)

Sunriver, oregon

Outer Banks

Sun River, Oregon is a great spot for this. It is well set up with rentals and tons of nearby activities. There is a Costco in Bend so you can feed the multitudes pretty easily.
