Best Holiday Destination for 3 generations in October?

Has anyone any good suggestions for a 7 day holiday in late October? There will be 3 generations travelling together. Grandfather and father want to play golf, grandmother and mother want to see sites and grandchildren want a pool and beach. Plus the flight can't be over 4 hours. Thinking Morocco, Malta or Tunisia. Any advice would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks,

The weather in late October should still be nice and sunny/warm in the Canary Islands.....not too long a flight from the U.K. either...........

All three destinations have golf courses, but Malta doesn't have the best beaches. It's a small island, packed with sight seeing, and at only a 2 hour flight from the UK, the shortest flight. .

By late October, all three destinations will be experiencing shorter daylight hours, and although warm enough during the day, you'd need to bring layers for the evening.

Some suggestions... .... check for flights first. The main charter airlines will be reducing the number of flights, especially if you are flying from a UK regional airport. Malta has the advantage of the shortest flights and transfers.

Look for hotels that have heated outdoor and internal swimmimg pools. Although not a rainy season, the outdoor pools will definately be cooler. I'd also suggest considering hotels that have spa facilities, and the standards in all your destinations are very good.

The individual accommodation reviews here in Trip Advisor are well worth reading. The photo's other travellers have submitted are more realistic than the publicity pictures from hotels and tour operators. You can filter out the reviews by clicking on "family" reviews too.

Just a word of caution though.Do read a selection of reviews, as some travellers have made it an art form to submit the photo of the one cracked bathroom tile/rusty sunbed etc, perhaps in the hope of getting a discount.

Green fee's and the relative location of the courses. Not a problem on Malta because the island is so small, but in Tunisia and Morocco, unless you are staying on an actual golf resort complex, the couses may be at a distance from what ever hotel you pick. Again, the individual destination forums can provide up to date information and are well worth researching.
