Door County Fall Festival

I understand there is a festival in Door County the weekend of October 14. How crazy is it there during that time? Will my husband and I be waiting for hours to go to breakfast at Al Johnson's or dinner somewhere? We were looking forward to a getaway for our anniversary.

Thank you,

You're visiting during the Sister Bay Fall Festival. Restaurant waits should be similar to those on busy summer weekends-which means they could be long. If you get to Al Johnson's early, you won't have to wait. Get there later and you wait. Just use common sense for dinner-arrive early or late for restaurants that don't take reservations, or make a reservation at restaurants that take them. We waited 1 1/2 hours for a table at Sister Bay Bowl on a Friday night in late June. Expect the same kind of wait for your weekend if you don't have reservations and you arrive at prime time.
