Travel Insurance

Hello....Have any Aussies claimed medical or travel insurance using the insurance on their NAB platinum card? It seems to be pretty good yet general opinion is it is better to take a separate travel policy. Has anyone ever claimed under this policy or is it just an urba myth that the insurance is bad. The underwriters are chubb. We are a reasonably healthy couple going to the US for 3 weeks - do not intend to drive or do any sports etc

You may have trouble finding someone who has claimed against NAB Travel Insurance. We have been using Amex (ANZ) TI for years and have never had reason to claim.

Prior to that we used Citibank CC TI. We missed our late night flight home (our fault & not claimable). However, they still spent several hours getting us on the next flight which we were told was full (by airport staff).

You need to understand the PDS.

Here's a comparison between the free TI policies provided by credit cards.

You've also posted this in the forum for Usa, a city in Japan, not the forum for the United States of America. If you are looking for experiences claiming on insurance while travelling in the US, it would be worth posting in that forum.
