Package Tour or Individual Planning? What would you recommen

It will be a group of four ( me, my brother his son 10 years old and my niece 15 years old),after reading lots of reviews and blogs I would like to ask your opinion which is better : To book a pacakge tour for two days or travel by ourselves . I do not mind travelling and finding things out during the travel ( I prepare myself with info before that naturally), I am aware that with booking a package will also save me time and trouble my concern is that , with arranged pacakges, one is tied to a certain schedule and activities which makes me hesitant. Your advice is really appreciated why or why should I not do : book a package or not needed to book a package tour.

I am planning to travel May 5-8, 2013 (this is the only time I have ). I wonder how the weather is going to be :)

Kind regards,

Grace

I never book a package tour.

Google and Tripadvisor will be the best tools in your preparation. Do research and feel free to ask questions! Read the Top Questions right hand side for information on questions that get regularly asked on the forum.

You will end up saving $$$$.

If the places you are going are the usual tourist spots, DIY.

Save the money for some other expenses.

Hi Tommo....thanks a lot, yes that is what I really need to do, gather more info. I just came across this 'Anawangin Cove' info yesterday, was not aware that there are places to discover in Zambales. I have already booked a week to Boracay( which I do every year), but wanted to go to somewhere that is not as commercialized as Boracay.

Hey....yeah, I was actually wondering that Philippine vacation is more expensive than going to Thailand ( hotels, activities and even flights).

If you are looking for less commercialised beaches look at Siquijor(my favourite), El Nido or Bohol(Alona Beach or Anda Beach) to name a few.

I would say that it is better for you not to do a package tour, it would just cost you more money.

You just need to plan and search more regarding the place and the things that you would want to do during your vacation.

But for me I must say that if you are looking for a beach that is not as crowded or commercialized like boracay, why dont you try panglao island in bohol the sand is almost fine and white as boracay sand but less commercialized.

and also consider palawan the place offers a lot of activities like the tour in underground river and coron, and the beach and scenery in el nido palawan is breath taking.

Hi,

You know at the end of the day it will still be up to you, but it's always a good thing to ask for some suggestions right. I think I agree with individual planning because you can plan yourselves without any limit, you can go wherever you want and you hold your time.

I can recommend Dasol in Pangasinan, you can visit tambobong white beach, it's not commercialised but it's almost like a hidden paradise waiting to be revealed.

:o)

For just 2-3 days, I would suggest doing it on your own. Choose one good place, one good resort and keep it simple.

It is terribly easy - use google, travel blogs and TA as your start point. Fine tune it by asking our doubts on the TA forum. Phils is easy to move around in.
