Bus and Boat Trips

Hi there thinking of PP for July next year - we do like to use public transport and wondered what trips we could do from PP and also any suggestions for Boat rips would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Express bus runs frequently from PP to Palma.Service buses to Alcudia,Formentor,Cala San Vicente,Old Pollensa,C'an Picafort even one a day to Lluc and Soller (though that is a long but scenic journey).

Boat trips from the marina:-regular ferries to Formentor and round trips to Alcudia Bay,Cala San Vicente. All highly popular in July.

Exactly as mentioned above, lots of options on both buses and boat trips, especially in summer season.

The ferry to Formentor beach runs virtually every hour in summer (25 mins there, 25 mins back). Our favourite is the longer trip departing 1030 every Tuesday, Wed & Friday arriving back 1300, that goes past Formentor beach, all the way round Formentor headland (below cliffs / lighthouse) down a bit on the other side of the island and then returns to PP via Formentor beach.

There is a good trip which NoFrills run. Bus from PP to Palma, old train over to Soller, tram to Port de Soller and boat back to PP. A long day but will be a great trip (have done the train and tram bit but not the boat, but know someone who has),

This year we hired a small speeboat with a 'driver' for an hour from the harbour, that was excellent. Price was OK, although there were 6 of us.

In the NoFrills day trip linz mentions above the boat only goes from Pto Soller as far as Sa Calobra in a spectacular cliff setting, I believe, not all the way to Pto Pollensa (which would take a long time by sea).It is however one of the very best excursions in Majorca especially for first time visitors and fully deserves the recommendation..
