Olympic Swimming pools

Hi,

we are planning on going to Majorca probabaly Port de Pollenca in July and want a hotel with either at least a 25m pool for lane swimming. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

The largest pool in Pto Pollensa is at Hotel Pollensa Park.It is definitely over 25 metres long and I estimate 35 metres. There are no lane dividers and in July your only chance of getting enough pool space to swim lengths is very early/very late in the day.

Other than what's mentioned above, I think you will draw a blank in PdP for much lane-swimming.

For an Olympic-size pool ( 50m ) you would have to go to Palma if there is one anywhere in Majorca.

Villaconcha has a new 25m 6 lane pool - but I doubt there would be any accommodation left there for this July.

For a really good swim there's the sea. In Pto Pollensa you often see swimmers in the morning thrashing it all across the bay, staying about 30 metres from shore to avoid the bigger boats' lines. If there's a gentle swell from breeze/wash you get a bit of resistance too. It's easier to count your distance in a pool but not as much fun. Tbh there are better beach areas with deeper water near the shore - like Porto Cristo or Cala San Vicenc which isn't far. Lovely but they're not Puerto Pollensa.
