Looking for a family of four in August

Hello,

We stayed in Calas De Mallorca last year and I have been researching and have found PP and wondered if it would suit a family two kids 6&9? We want somewhere quiet don't really like the whole all inclusive big hotels and would like a smaller quieter place. Any suggestions? Are we going the right direction with PP or is there somewhere else I've not thought of, C'Ldor??

Thanks

If you are talking about August 2014 not a lot left. The contrast between CdM and PP is vast.PP is a family resort but in August it is busy like the rest of Majorca.I think it would please all of you but you need to find accommodation that suits. We can help you choose (though not with availability) if you give us details of what you want.

Availability for Aug will be the problem at this lates stage. See what you can find via this link and come back for further advice as necessary (via private message if you wish). It's a respected website that advertises properties - you deal direct with the owner, not with the website. It covers apartments and villas. Pine Walk area and South Bay area are the best locations from the dropdown IMO.

Thank you for your replies, I am beginning to realise thaft availability may be an issue for 15th - 25th August this year!!

Ideally a relatively quiet apartnentotel, good sized pool and easy to walk to restaurants and beaches. As always looking for as reasonable as possible. Went all inclusive last year but didn't like the hussle and bussle of the large hotels and didn't get value for money as we like to go and eat out in the evenings and not stay in the hotel all of the time. Any ideas welcomed

The aparthotels for you to assess are Villa Concha, Puerto Azul, Flora and Playa Mar. Though aparthotels tend not to be quiet as they have lots of kids there in August, plus kids clubs + entertainment. Avoid Oro Playa IMO together with Club Del Sol and Club Pollentia.

Yes I suggest you look at Puerto Azul and Flora for best locations.Good luck.As you have 2 children of your own you can well imagine the ambience. But it's not mad like All Inclusive.

Availability isn't good at all, does anyone have comments on Duvabita Apartments or the Duva Spa, thanks

Not stayed in those but they look quite decent. Their one downside is that they are about 16-20 mins walk from the resort centre (inland, not along a prom). A few mins closer to the excellent south bay beach if you cut through the backstreets. But they have the advantage of being only a few mins walk (ie much closer than most other aparthotels) to the Eroski supermarket for good value shopping.

For general feedback about the resort with kids, All Inc etc...ours are now 16 and 13 and we are heading off for our 7th visit in August, which is when we always go. We too go self catering as there are too many nice places to eat to be staying in your hotel. Sure you will enjoy it, if you can find somewhere....good luck!
