Travelling in July with 4kids (2,9,15,15yrs) and we love waterfront dining for lunch and dinner- any recommendations please?

Any of the restaurants on Pine Walk or go to Stay at the port. Plenty of fab waterfront eateries. Have a walk along the front and look at the menus to see where the kids would eat.

I concur with the above posts. My own suggestions would be Stay, La Llonja & Hostal Bahia, and there's many more from which to choose.

For a bar with a view, go to Match Point. It is on the front, overlooking the harbour, just about 50m from the central roundabout. Go upstairs and the view out is superb as it had a big open 'window'. Also table football and pool table for the kids, helps keep them happy. Be doing that myself in about 6 weeks!!

It always takes people by surprise how you can't get a table without a reservation - pretty well anywhere on the seafront - on Friday and Saturday particularly - even at a pizzeria like Little Italy. You don't have to reserve ages in advance just a couple of days. Longer for very popular places like the terrace of Hotel Bahia and Stay.

Hotel Miramar without doubt.

ALa carte €23 three course large glass of wine simply superb, right on the front.

Check out TA reviews, more mature staff with colonial elegance it's fantastic. Alternatively trendy Cappuccinos where you can dine on a platform with the sea on three sides.

Lunch is equally good with rates comparable to tacky promenade cafés.

Worth booking though for either lunch or dinner.

The hotel Capri has a outdoor dock where you can have lunch or dinner. You are almost sitting in the sea. Almost next to the hotel Sis Pins and cheaper than the Cappuccino.

Cappucino is very expensive.Trendy, lots of space around you, pretentious service in comfortable surroundings and good quality coffee and food options (breakfast in particular for a twist on "cold continental" or boiled egg with toast soldiers. You won't feel the prices for a one-off but every day for a week you certainly would.

I agree lunch at Miramar is tops.If you order Serrano Ham it is hand carved off a whole dried leg for you in the kitchen not peeled out of a plastic pre-sliced pack.Melon slices with a half-plate of Serrano ham and a bottle of chilled Torres Vina Sol seated at a table out on the pavement is memorable.
