My husband and I are traveling to Thailand next January/february and I am trying to narrow down which islands we would like to visit (I know it's super far in advance but I am so excited!). In a perfect world we would have months to do this, but we don't... SO... So far I have decided (if time permits) to go to three separate islands. I Like the idea of Ko Phayam near the Burma border and Ko yao Noi to explore the Ao Phang-Nga area. I was originally sold on Koh Lipe, but everything I read and hear says that it has been completely built up over the years...
So... this is what we are looking for and any suggestions, thoughts, experiences would be helpful. Also if you have any must do things or places you stayed anywhere else, let me know! we have lots of time and nothing is set in stone
Between Trang islands and Sudan islands
- Somewhere where there may be good diving/snorkling
- A little off the beaten path, but would still like to have some creature comforts (restaurants/bars) but nothing crazy
-Without hordes of other tourists/families (we are a childless couple)
- I personally may like a nicer place to stay (we will be staying in the midrange bungalows for the rest of the trip and b/c this will probably be our last stop a nice pool and room/bungalow would be nice... we can't afford the high high end but i was thinking less than 6500B) but will give this idea up for the perfect island.
-Ability to go exploring on the island and/or neighboring islands (I looked at Ko tarutaro in the Sudan area and island hopping in the trang islands)
I have done a lot of research, but it is hard to narrow down between two undoubtedly beautiful islands, thus I am asking you for help!
