Shinjuku station exit to Sunroute Plaza

We have 3 full size luggage with 2 young kids and will be stay at Sunroute Plaza.

We were considering taking the NEX and arriving at Shinjuku station as the journey is shorter than limousine bus.

But reading from the forum, seem that there is only a single escalator going up or down at different time of the day and there is also a new exit to reach Sunroute plaza .

Due to the heavy luggage, we try to gather all the route without pushing it around and get lost in the station.

Can anyone visiting the station guide us on the direction?

With lots of luggage and young kids in tow, it would be so much easier if you take the limobus:

If you have to take the NEX, follow the direction as follows:

Don't forget to get the Suica/NEX for adults and discounted NEX tickets for kids:

The direction in the blog is dated 2008, after all the renovation , is the direction still valid? We are arrival before 1800hrs. so the escalator is going down. How to go up without using the staircase next to it?

The NEX platforms have not changed since 2008 and the direction is still valid. If you don't want to use the stirs, go out of South Exit and walk from there:

As I said before, if you don't want to deal with the hassle, take the limobus. It's door to door.

Thanks for the guide. Think we will the the limousine bus to reach the hotel .

Or limousine bus to Shinjuku station west gate as it has more trips departing from Narita. A short walk to hotel , right?

Think both ways will still better than taking NEX right?

As Shibuyakko has already stated and I second it get the limo bus to the hotel it will drop you right outside. dont bother getting the bus to the station you will still have to lump all your luggage and 2 small children along to the hotel. It may be short walk (to some) but really save yourself the bother

It was enough hassle with two adults and 2 small pieces of luggage getting off the train and walking along to the hotel for us without looking out for small kids as well.

If you take NEX, you don't have to use the South exit. Use the Southern Terrace exit. There is a ramp to the immediate right (not shown in the picture in Shibuyakko's link provided in #1) to the stairs.

Limobus is probably better in your case provided the schedule meets your needs.

If you arrive before 18:00, the escalator from the platform to Southern Terrace Exit runs only downward and you'll need to take a flight of stairs.

Yes, limobus is the best option. Besides, Shijuku station isa very busy station and you need to find the exit with 3 luggages and 2 kids. Limobus stop right outside the hotel.

Hi, just arrived in Tokyo yesterday from Singapore with 4 children and 5 luggages. I second that limousine bus is the choice. Hassle free and very convenient..,

Hi, we are also considering the bus as an option. Our concern is bathroom access. Are there bathrooms on the bus? Traveling with kids who need bathroom breaks is our concern at this time.
