Casual Dinner

We land at 5:30pm, by the time we get to our hotel (Esmeralda) and unpack it will be 7'ish ( I assume). We'll be looking for a casual hang out for app's and drinks within walking distance to our hotel - any advice where to go? It is our first visit to SMX and won't be familar with our surroundings until the next day. We'll save the remaining 6 nights for fine dining :)

Thanks!

Walk over to the village square.

There are quite a few restaurants and bars in Orient Village. Chez Martine (French), Ti Chi (Asian), Le Piment (pizza, casual dining), Cote Plage (French),Little Itale (pasta), and Tap 5 for pizza and other light meals. Additionally right outside Orient complex on the main road is Rancho Del Sol for dinner and drinks.

In the Orient complex is also Cafe Plantation, and L'Astroble at the Esmeralda resort. They are both very good and more upscale.

Several beach bars have parties at night during high season - Waikiki, Budha Bar at Bikini, Kontiki and Boo Boo Jams, Aloha for lunch. Pedros for BBQ and more..
