We are staying in this area in a couple of weeks for 2 nights and wondered if anyone can reccomend any places to go for a meal in the evening.
Bickenhill is a small village, but it is very near the complex that consists of the National Exhibtion Centre (NEC), Birmingham Airport and the Birmingham International Train station.
While this complex is huge, there are not that many places to eat in it (there are a few in the NEC, and a few in the airport, and there are some hotels on the complex).
There are a few pubs and other places in the area, though the nearest area with a number of places to eat is Solihull, which is a couple of miles to the South West of Bickenhill.
Quite a lot of people who are going to the NEC do ask on here about places to eat nearby so if you scroll down the "West Midlands" forum you may find previous discussions on the subject.
Here is one from August LAST year that I think is still relevant
You could try Meriden, another village about five miles from Bickenhill. The Bulls Head is pretty good for meals, also has quite a nice bar with a log fire which gives the place a nice ambiance. Check it out on here, there are some varied comments but it is a nice place to have a drink and a meal.
I suggest to Bella Venezia at knowle in high street opposite the Lloyd Bank,is a small cosy place with traditional italian food ,
This question was first posted on 6th November 2011 so they MAY have eaten by now.
However I notice the latest poster has just joined the site, and this is their first post, so maybe some "self promotion" going on.
Ha! Its a good job we did as we'd be skeletons by now!! Lol
