The strong winds early hours of Friday morning.

WE had the mother of all storms Thursday night/Friday morning but thanks to Pepe and his amazing hard working loyal staff the place was back up and running within the day. The winds were very strong so much so that all of the new glass refurbishment could not take it and came crashing in. Gone is the glass surround around the large swimming pool along with the outdoor glass patio on E floor. Thankfully this all occurred at night and there were no fatalities - had it happened during the day - well who knows - chairs had come crashing down into the gardens from E floor. The staff and Pepe worked so hard to get it all right - we had the option of leaving or staying - we chose to stay along with 200 guests - some that did leave went to Puerto but returned to this hotel. Today is beautiful clear blue sky day and it is hard to believe that only 24 hours ago the staff were clearing all the debris up. Part of the facade on the front of the hotel has gone too plus some glass balconies blew out. No one got hurt so all is good in the end.

We were fed, looked after and treated fantastically given the circumstances. Everything virtually back to normal but when Mother Nature strikes......the winds were so strong - we´ve never known anything like it.

Really glad there were no serious injuries. It sounds as though the hotel may have to rethink the glass panels for the future.

Glad to hear that Pepe was on hand to help sort out the mess.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Tenerife seems to have had its share of storms this winter.

We are due to visit the hotel around Easter.

Thanks - you will be ok when you come in Easter if the hard work done in the past 24 hours is anything to go by. We have the most beautiful stunning weather at the moment but the talk at the moment is still of the storm and of how those guests who left on the Friday of whom some of now returned. Pepe was our Superman and deserves the most highest praise for how he galvanised everything together. We will always return to this hotel in the future and have come to realise that should anything like this ever happen again the hotel staff will do everything for us tirelessly and get everything back to normal for us. We have been thanking them but do you know what?? They have thanked US for staying!! As if we would go from this beautiful place! Enjoy your holiday when you go in Easter. Los Gigantes Rocks XXXXXX
