didgeridoo at eumundi market

Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any good quality Didgeridoos available for purchase at Eumundi Market?

I'm wanting one for playing rather than as an ornament.

Cheers and thanks very much

frazz

Yes there is. Bought one myself. He is in the shed area at the lower edge of the markets away from the main road.

just remember not to let any of your women friends/family play it ... it is a huge cultural no-no.

Thanks very much beachbum Can you remember what sort of price they are for a good quality one?

thmoore,

I'm not sure about the cultural aspect regarding women playing,

It's my understanding that Aboriginal women played didgeridoo but not in ceremonys.

It seems there are many different "opinions" regarding women playing didge depending on which tribe /territory you come from.

They were around about the $200-$300 mark for a good one and my wife loves to play the didge.

The guy that sells them is aboriginal and his young daughter is a fantastic player. So doesn't seem to worry them either.

Ask them to give you a demo when you are there. They give lessons as well for free.

I think the group of sheds is called Eumundi Square and is off Napier Road. But either way he is the only guy in that area selling and playing the didge.
