1)All the resorts around jim corbett advertise about taking to safari. What exactly do they show in safari.Do they take the tourists inside the park proper or what? What about the Permit.

2)We are planning to take our four year old child along. Will he be allowed for safari.

There are 2 safaris daily. Morning 6.30 a.m. Evening 2.30 p.m. Which continues for 3.5 hrs. Jeep safari would cost Rs.3200 - 3500. Morning safari is always preferable. The hotels are offering to book the safari for you. 4y/o will be allowed to the safari.

Online booking for safari can be done on http://www.corbettnationalpark.in

You can book on line and look at link given by Ashish da in post 1. It has all the information you wanted.

From Bhimtal to Corbett it is long distance wil be difficult to do day trip. Better to stay overnight at Corbett for safari early morning and evening.

Jeep Safari will be available in early November. Jeep safari would cost Rs.3200 - 3500. There are 2 safaris daily. Morning 6.30 a.m. Evening 2.30 p.m. Which continues for 3.5 hrs. Morning safari is always preferable. Online booking for safari can be done on http://www.corbettnationalpark.in

Corbett (with safari) cannot be done in day trip from Bhimtal.

You may book the safari from the given link or thru hotel, they are quite efficient in safari booking, of course at a premium rate.

You can check the availability of safari on the website mentioned in the above replies. There are limited number of safari per day - if they are booked nothing much can be done about it. However you can enjoy elephant ride (but plz check if itz on road or reserve forest).

Bhimtal is far away - overnight stay is recommended. However you can do day trip to Ranikhet (65 kms) and Naintal (90 kms).

Thanks for the update Ashisda...I was reading on the above website that park remain open between 15-11 to 15-06 and for the rest of the period it remains closed...If that is the case then jeep safari will not be possible...or there are other options available?

regards,

Anand, India

Dear Vijay

There are not much options available when park is closed. However Jhirna gate is open through out the year

Sitabani is also an option ,but this are is outside CTR and is reserve forest near CTR.

Dhikala & Bijrani are ideal for spotting tigers, to enjoy the forest, Jhirna is the best area.
