Muri vs Aroa beach

Hi. First time to Cook Islands and was wondering which of these two beaches are the preferred place to stay. We love to scuba dive, being near restaurants, bars are nice. And definitely looking for the lesser remote o the two.

Thanks

If you are looking for the busier place, then that would be Muri. Lots of restaurants and bars around the area. Definitely the lesser remote of the two.

For scuba diving you will find Pacific Divers close to the Pacific Resort.

Cheers!

Kia Orana TnelsonSV,

I’d agree with MissVancouver that Muri is the busier area, although the snorkeling is much better at Aroa Beach than in Muri itself.

For scuba diving all the companies offer a pickup and drop off service. Personally I’d check out the reviews for The Dive Center or Dive Rarotonga. Pacific Divers have a very high turn over of staff and it concerned me that a friend who met a new Pacific Divers staff member the other night said he had just learn to scuba dive and was working on their dive boat as their safety man.
