Eateries Muri

Hi, I am going to Muri for a week in July. Are there many cheap Eateries for dinner i.e Asian or is it mainly fine dining?

Kia Orana Samcro, welcome to the forum.

Muri has a variety of dining, including restaurants, cafes, takeaways and the cultural village for a buffet meal and show. One licenced restaurant in Muri, called the Rickshaw, does Asian-themed meals. It's casual and inexpensive based on average Raro prices.

Muri also has a night market on Thursdays, selling a range of cooked foods including Asian-influenced, local dishes and international-flavours.

Dotted around Rarotonga, you'll find other dining venues, with several being very affordable. Raviz (Indian) restaurant in town does a $19.00 buffet every Friday night.

The Saturday market in town is hugely popular and sells a big variety of cooked foods. During week-days, the permanent stalls located around the market site are all cheap eats.

Enjoy your stay. Kia manuia.

The thing to realize is that Raro, being an island, it is very easy to get anyplace from anyplace in a reasonably short time. So, asking about restaurants in the Muri Beach area is really not relevant. Check out restaurants around the entire island. Chuck.

Muri Market 4 evenings a week with Island music on Thursday. This is a great mix of Asian and Island meals available at reasonable prices. We had 2 meals here. Just be warned that you will be served large platefuls!!

Next to the Rickshaw is La Casita serving Mexican dishes. Very nice.

Kai Pizza at Muri Market on Wednesday evenings. Delilicious for breakfast and lunch. Fruits of Rarotonga a very short drive away from Muri for very cheap lunches.

Nothing is cheap in Rarotonga!

We found The Rickshaw moderately priced ( fusion/Asian meals and good) and gather the Mexican next door is fair too. They are both owned by the owner of The Tamarind restaurant near Avarua.

Mrui marlets 4 nights a week worth visiting for evening meals. Very generour helpings.
