Shuttle bus to Jibacoa?

Our family is planning a trip to CVJ in early July and this is our first trip to Cuba. We have booked an All Inclusive package from toronto. I have gone through the forum but could not find the procedure for travelling to the hotel from the airport. Is there a shuttle bus for Jibacoa or is it a common bus for many hotels in Varadero and Jibacoa? Do we have to look for a special bus to CVJ? Appreciate if anyone can help us?

Thanks.

When we went to Breezes Jibacoa a couple years ago(right beside the CVJ) it was our own bus for people going to the two resorts and it never went anywhere near Varadero. Basically there should be a bus that picks you up outside the airport in Varadero and the drive takes about an hour or a little more to Jibacoa. Did you book through a tour operator? If so that should be how it is for you.

As you come out of the airport you will see a person waving a card for your tour. They will direct you to your bus. The bus usually goes to Breezes first, CJV 2nd and there is another resort outside of Havana that we sometimes have shared the ride with. The bus usually stops along the way for panoramic views and pina colladas. Wthout the stop it takes about 40 mins. Don't forget to pick up your beer before you head to the bus ...just outside of departures. To the left as you come out there is a place for you to change your $. I always ask for some 1CUC coins for tipping.

Just look for the Nolitours rep and they will direct you to the bus, which will be going only to CVJ and Breezes. Or if you get lucky and are the only ones going that way, they will send you in a cab. :-)

We were there in march and were sent by taxi...a van. We were the only 3 in it so it was a great way to start a vacation. We were also sent back to the airport in a taxi.

We were with Nolitours and travelling with us were two other couples going to a resort/hotel between Havana and Jibacoa.

We were there in April - no waving of placards by Nolitours (although we love the on site rep Noelia) - we just asked which the correct bus was and we found it. No stops en route just a direct ride to the CVJ. Mind you, we didn't check to see if the toilet was operational on the bus, so it might be a good idea to use the bathroom at the Varaderdo airport. since it is a bit of a drive. You will have a grand time.

Might be a good idea to play tag team. One person get on the bus first to get a seat close to the front and the other get refreshments. change money, etc.

You do NOT want to sit at the back of the bus because sometimes the toilet acts up and it is extremely odiferous!

In over 20 trips to Cuba I have never been on a bus with odors from a toilet. I don't remember being on a bus that had a toilet.

We have never been on a shuttle to BJ that ever had a toilet on the bus. Sometimes if not to many are going to the resort they will send you in a minivan type cab.
