Bo Phut - what facilities, activies, restaurants?

Could someone please help out with information on Bo Phut?

And also how far from other places, eg. airport etc and what is the best transport for a large group? Thanks

Just spent 10 nights in Bophut and loved it. It's fairly quiet there now it's the end of season, but there's still plenty of things to do - and possibly at better prices if you can barter a bit.

We didn't do any of the standard exursions expect for the full moon party, but there are lots of things on offer such as day trips around Koh Samui, day trip to Ang Thong Marine park, diving trips etc - you won't have any problem booking these are there are plenty of excursion stores in Fisherman's Village.

Fisherman's village is lovely with a wide range of restaurants and bars (cocktails/sports bars) and many stalls/shops - enough to keep you entertained in the evenings (especially if you like football as all live games are shown at the weekends in the evenings). Plenty of traditional Thai food is available at places such as Smiles, Shades, The Happy Elephant - then we had a great steak at The Shack (cooked on a BBQ grill), and a burger at the Billabong. There's an Italian restaurant on the beach, and a tandoori restaurant too (which we didn't go to), and plenty of other Thai restaurants. So it pretty much caters for everyone. It's much smaller than Chaweng, but much nicer as it's not so commercialised and has a more traditional feel to it.

Bo Phut is about 15/20 minutes from the airport - when we arrived at the airport we simply paid about 150 Bhat each to get a minibus - they tend to load them up until they're fairly full and drop people off along the way. So if there's a group of you, you can probably fit into one or two.

Wish I was still there!
