Yes, why pay a lot extra for someone else to book what you can easily (and I mean really easily) book yourself. Just go to a travel agent in the UK (or do it online yourself), I used to like Trailfinders and book flights to Bangkok and then get direct flights from Bangkok to Samui return. Decide what sort of accommodation you want and how much you want to pay, ask questions on TA about different beaches etc and save yourself a heap of money.
There are a number of different beach areas to stay in Samui depending on what you like. Chaweng is pretty full on if you like to party, but South Chaweng is more laid back. Bophut is quieter with nice bars and restaurants in the evening. Choeng Mon is quieter again with a nice beach. There are others too.
thanks had heard of trailfinders but waiting for prices to come out first did price with kenwood came at about £4000 for the three of us for 10 nights in samui not counting staying in bangkok don't know if this is a good price or not
