Things to do/eat near Sri Panwa hotel

Hi everyone,

We're going to stay at the Sri Panwa for a few nights in February for our honeymoon.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a night market close by to hang out during the night? If there isn't one super close, then how far is the next little city? We would like to have dinner outside the hotel and hang out. Also, are there any good tour boats or guides anyone can recommend? I'd also like to know if there are monkeys or elephant trekking nearby.

Thank you! :-)

Cape Panwa village is at the entrance to Sri Panwa. Its only small but there are 6 or so small local cafes that serve great Thai, Indian and western food. Some are on the main waterfront road some are on the road up to Cape Panwa Hotel. There is also a supermarket and attached coffee/ice cream shop. A couple of tour shops, money exchange, one bar, tailors and massage and beauty shops (most of these are also on the way up to CP Hotel. In the evening a number of stalls set up selling the usual touristy items (DVD's are good quality). Its a very quiet part of Phuket.

If you are there on a weekend you could go into the Phuket Town weekend markets. They are fun, lots of shops, food stalls and music. There are taxis that you can negotiate a fare with in the village. They will wait for you while you are in the markets. Joseph is one of the drivers, very reliable.

Apart from that you could take an evening trip into Patong (its a 45/50 minute drive) via taxi or your hotel might have transport for a far more lively evening.

Have a look at Phuket Sailing Tours. I have been twice and really recommend them but book soon as they are popular. In the FAQ section of the phuket forums you will find more ideas on recomended tours, elephants etc. Your hotel would be able to help as well.

Congratulations and have a wonderful honeymoon :)

Thank you so much! This is indeed helpful since I had no clue what is located in that area. :-)

A good tour boat for you that would be able to pick up from Sri Panwa Jetty save you travelling is Blue World Safaris a 50ft power catamaran. Blue World quite often goes to Phi Phi , Koh Maithon, Racha and does a nice Sunset tour around the local islands. He also now has a trailing sea jacuzzi.

I know the owner quite well he quite often picks up for me from Cape Panwa PM me with your dates and I can contact him for you as to where he is going as he quite often does private charter on other days.

You will not be stuck for dining choices in and around Panwa area. Most guests go to Russells Sunset Bar on an evening a buggy will drop you there from Sri Panwa or the Beach Bar in Ao Yon Bay nearby does great food. I have seen Sri Panwa's buggies go there as well to drop guests off. There is a small market along the sea front in Panwa.
