All beaches on Antigua are public. Jolly is stunningly beautiful, and perfectly safe. There are vendors, but a polite "no thank you" or "not today thank you" is all that's needed. Don't lead them on and they won't hassle you. JBR is ideal for families, the food is good and plentiful, the pool is more than big enough, and there's a good kids' club (if you want it).

A lot depends on expectations. It's not 5* luxury. It's good, basic accommodation in nice grounds and is very family friendly.

There will always be extremes in reviews. It's usually best to ignore the ones at the two ends of the scale - those in the middle are generally much more accurate.

We have been twice now with boys ages 15, 14, 8 and 4 and they all loved it especially the younger one's, they have never used the kids club as they are more than happy to play on the beautiful beach collecting shells or going out on the peddle boats with us and spending a lot of time in the pool it is great for kids of the ages you are taking, however if you want to use the kids club it seems very well run and the staff are lovely aand they do some really good activities it is just my two little ones wouldn't leave the pool or beach to go and that was fine with us.

Thank you so much for the info..

Did you happen to go on any family excursions that you would reccommend? How about the rooms , what type did you have?

The dress code seems a little confusing for dinner is there anything we need to know about in advance?

the first time we went we had the queen superior room, it was fine nothing flashy but clean and big enough for 4 people and after all you only sleep in there, the dress code only really applys to the italian restaurant all the others are pretty relaxed dress code but in the italian men must wear long trousers and a shirt with closed in shoes no sandels or flip flops and ladies must wear something dressy and proper shoes also, over the last 2 years we have done lots of trips 2 of our favourites are the eco tours run by adventure antigua and the subcat which is a fully submergable catamaran another great thing to do in Antigua is rent a car and go out exploring you then get to see lots of the fab beaches and meet the locals who are really friendly, have a great time im sure you will love it there. Any more questions just give us a shout and i will try to help.
