Eating in sri lanka

I am planning a visit to sri lanka but my concern is the food. I cannot eat any food with chili or pepper. Is the food spicy as that will determine whether I go or not.

Yes, food is generally spicy. You will need to order specially without chili and pepper.

Hi there....

In most, if not all star class hotels, there are plenty of ranges of non spicy foods available, ask the chefs in restaurants to point you in right direction..

In local town/village eateries, those ranges may not be so widely available..

Regards

Dave

Don't let the food stop you! There is more than rice and curry when I was in Sri Lanka. The places I've stayed in offer options when it came to having pepper or being spicy- just tell them beforehand, clearly! It's handy to have a local friend write it down for you so you can show it to the waiter or cook as you order. And you could go to the market and get your food there :)
