Currency

Hi we arrive on Monday and wonder what currency is best. We have always taken dollars but have seen comments saying pesos are better in EPM. Would appreciate comments. Christine

Asked the staff at EPM and they overwhelmingly preferred Dollars. Peso fluctuation is a problem for them. Although they are happy with pretty much either.

I have always taken dollars but plan to take a few hundred in pesos this trip. Perhaps someone can confirm this but I think I read that the gift shop at EPM only takes pesos now. I also think that pesos are easier if you go over to Isla since everything is marked in their currency. They will take dollars but you might not get the best bargain if they don't convert at the going rate. Bottom line, whatever is easier for you since vacations are all about relaxing and having fun! We always use US$ for tipping

Dependent on who you are flying with if you are due to pay the exit tax you will need either Sterling or Pesos for that

Have fun at EPM
