advice on alcudia hotels for families

Hello,

We are looking to book our 2010 holiday, we have two daughters who will be aged 4 and 7 when we travel. We would like a hotel that offers good childrens facilities, clean, safe, and good basic food. After trowling through trip advisor the Condessa de la Bahia seems to get rave reviews, but location wise seems a long walk up to the centre????, our kids are fussy eaters and may want a kfc when we are there!!!!! Can anyone recommend a lovely hotel nearer the centre???? Also we are thinking of going in June will the weather be hot enough for beach/pool hols or i should i wait to august to be guaranteed the weather, but dont really fancy paying lots more money!!! Thank you for taking the time to read this....

We had a great time at the Condessa last year and are going again in august. It has everything you would need for a young family and the beach is glorious and the sea very shallow for a long way out. the food is suitable for even fussiest of eaters and there are lots of activities organised during the day for kids. I have no choice but to go in school hols otherwise I would definitely go in June as the weather will still be lovely but not excessively hot for the children. You can't really go wrong here value wise as the drinks are of good quality and the children get free lollies and ice creams too. We did walk into Alcudia along the beach which took us about 40 mins but we didnt have kids with us. A taki is just a couple of euros and takes about 3 minutes so getting there isn't really a problem. The evening entertainment is definitely more geared to families which didn't interest us much but which we will probably enjoy more this year as travelling with niece who is 12. Hope this helps

June will be as hot as you can stand.Prices much better then than in July/August (but the Scots' schools break up early and they are big in Alcudia/Puerto Pollensa). The Iberostar hotels are very good but they are not as cheap as Condesa.I would want to be on the beach side of the C'an Picafort-Alcudia main road as it is a pain to cross and noisy traffic late night. The beaches in Alcudia-C'an Picafort stretch are quite magnificent.

Hi,

I can highly reccommend the Viva Sunrise for families. It has loads for kids to do including, pool with slide and splash area, playground, bouncy castle, crazy golf and all day kids entertainment. It is also spotlessly clean and in a great central area, close to the beach and the resort centre.

Just got back from the Ciudad Blanca-full of kids, right on the beach, opposite KFC (!) and near the resort centre, lovely warm, shallow pool, great food...fully inclusive was great there, fizzy drinks on tap to help yourself.Really good for families-not cheap, but may have deals early in the season (don't take children out of schol during term time though, you could be fined for taking an unauthorised absence, and the end of May half term is expensive anyway).
