Minimum time needed to see Agrigento ruins

A question for Vagabonda! I have been enjoying so many of your Sicily posts. My husband and I will be driving from Sciacca to Piazza Armerina. We would like to make a stop in Agrigento on the way. Is this feasible and still be able to reach Piazza Armerina before dark? Thanks so much to you or any other posters with suggestions.

Welcome to Sicily Lynsu and thank you!

For future reference, you've posted on the Salerno forums. It's easy to confuse Sicili with Sicily, and even Scicli, a town in Sicily.

Yes, it's feasible, and Agrigento is a perfect stop between Sciacca and Piazza Armerina.

There are left storage lockers at the train station in Agrigento to store your luggage.

The Michelin Green Guide recommends half a day for the Valley of the Temples. You would allocate more time if you also intend to see the Giardino della Kolymbetra or the Museo Archeologico Regionale di Agrigento.

Best wishes!
