When travelling Zion to Bryce do we take the 89 or the 89A? What are the must see things along the way?
???? 9 to 89 to 12
You will want to take hwy 9 west from zion to 89 north to hwy 12.
89A would not be an option.
Almost positive kbec meant hwy 9 east, which leads out of the park to 89.
Stop in at the Red Canyon visitor center on Hwy 12. There are some short trails right nearby. There is a nice bike trail the length of Red Canyon if you brought a bike.Going east to west is a nice downhill cruise.
Nice catch dez, absolutely take 9 EAST. :-)
(so hard to get it right when I'm typing with my fingernails on the phone)- But I am home now, and can type and check and recheck).
You should do the Canyon overlook trail which is just east of the tunnel on 9 east. You should hit this trailhead about 8-9 miles after you enter Zion NP from Springdale. This is about 1mi RT and has good views.
Just south of the intersection of 9 east and 89 is the Coral Sand Dunes. This can also be visited on the drive from Bryce to Page.
