Nice places between Yellowstone and Bryce canyon

Hi,

Any recommendations on some nice places to stop at, on the way from Yellowstone NP to Bryce Canyon NP ?

Little towns, lakes, beautiful camping spots, amusement parks, etc.

Thank you

Assuming that you take the scenic route of US89 south, you will pass through Grand Teton and Jackson(probably on your itinerary already)

We stayed at Logan Utah last spring, and loved that small city, it was a good detour off of the Interstates to the West. There is a nice scenic drive and several parks nearby up Logan Canyon to Bear Lake

We spent the night in Park City, UT before heading up to Jackson. You should definitely budget time for Grand Teton if you haven't already.

Park City is a good midway stopover - small mountain resort town with great rates in summertime. I wouldn't make it a camping stop, get a hotel. Look at Newpark Resort to give you the convenience of being right off the highway in a great entertainment complex or Marriott Summit Watch to stay right on historic Main Street in downtown. Both would be fun and productive.

You can spend some time hiking, visiting one of the ski resorts or taking in the 2002 Winter Olympics museum.

Have fun.

There are so many options. Do you know which route you'll take?

You could visit Lava Hot springs, Bear Lake, the Uintas, Flaming gorge(lots of great camping in both). Visit antelope island to see the great salt lake, go to lagoon amusement park, slide down the Alpine slide in Park City, climb mt timpanogos.

How much time do you have?

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Kbecjeans, Flaming gorge looks gorgeous. Are there any campsites in the area which you recommend ?

Also lagoon amusement park.

Do you know of any water parks in the area ?

We are spending about 2 weeks in Utah.

We'll probably take the scenic route.

Flaming Gorge is beautiful. I'd try for Canyon Rim camping in the Red Canyon area. Mustang Ridge is nice as well.

If you like history you might check out Fort Bridger outside of Evanston WY (it is on the way from Flaming Gorge to Yellowstone.)

We are going the opposite direction of you, but have decided to stay at Palisade State Park/Reservoir on our way up and Park City via the Grand Tetons on our way back.
