Day Trip to Bryce....Do We Have Enough Time?

Ok I need some help! We have about 6-7 hours at Bryce Canyon. We are driving from Zion in the morning to Bryce than leaving that afternoon to Kanab. We were gonna skip Bryce because we only have a few hours but we believe we can get a good feel for the park in that amount of time. But I would like some prespective from people who have visited Bryce. Do we have enough time or should we skip it? And if we have just a few hours what must we do?

Our other alternative is to stay the night at Bryce and leave very early for a 9:30am tour in Page but that is really cutting it close. I know we will gain an hour but still that would be our second choice unless I get a lot of advice to go this route.

Thanks for all your advice!

Bryce to Page is about three hours, plus you gain an hour so you could do the drive in the morning.Bryce is very nice at sunrise, and the clear dark skies are great for stargazing.Check the NPS site to see if there are any night sky programs.

www.nps.gov/brca

If you are not comfortable with that, you can actually see a good part of Bryce in 6-7 hours. Its a park that does not take too terribly long to see if you just go to the overlooks at the main amphitheater.Walk the rim trail.

Maybe do the Navajo/Queens Garden loop. The drive to Kanab is about 1.5 hours.

You really should see Bryce at sunrise and sunset.

Page from march to November is one hr behind Bryce so if you exit byce at 7am you will get to page at 9am...3 hr drive time.

Dont skip it. We have stayed overnight in Kanab and drove to Bryce. We hiked Queens Garden/Navajo loop then on to Zion.
