I would like some advice on routes and things to see from Yosemite to DVNP.
We leave Yosemite on 23rd August and will leave on the Tioga Pass then down Hwy 395 through mammoth Lakes to Bishop where we spend the night. We intend to visit the Ancient Bristlecone Forest (and also Erick Schat's Bakery in Bishop).
The following day we will continue down 395, through Lone Pine and then turn onto Hwy 190 to Death Valley. We have one night in DVNP staying at the Furnace Creek Lodge.
I'm expecting that we will arrive in DV around lunchtime and don't have to be in LV until 2pm the following day.
The places in DV I would like to visit are Artists Drive & Artists Pallette, Badwater Basin (to walk on the salt flats), Devil's Golf Course, Zabriskie Point, Dante's View and I'd love to go out to the Ubehebe Crater and also see The Racetrack. Is this all possible in one afternoon and the following morning. I've read about hiring a jeep from Farabee's to go out to the Racetrack, but have read that it's well worth the effort.
How long will it take us to get from DV to Las Vegas?
Any feedback about the route/sights/timescales would be very much appreciated.
