Fry an Egg Notg

Death Valley made today's Chicago Tribune with an article saying too many folks are trying to fry eggs on rocks creating a stinking smell! So rangers are saying if you try this to take your eggs with you before they become an environmental air pollutant.

Environmental air pollutant? Wow that seems overstated for a huge park like DV.

If you really want to do this, bring a skillet and a lid. Place the skillit out in the open on rocks or concrete. Then let the skillet warm up for a few minutes. Place the egg in the skillet, and use the lid to keep in the moisture, which will help cook the egg. Then place the egg on a plate and eat. Then the only air pollution (and littering) might be due to bodily functions ;) (Or just buy some Beano...)

Depends on how many eggs times the number of tourists!

Right. The smell/environmental air pollution would dissipate in a park the size of DV. People who leave the egg mess behind are simply slobs.

The problem is that if you try to cook it on the pavement, it won't cook, and then people just leave raw eggs around. In addition to the aesthetic contamination, there are the biological contaminants of raw rotting eggs. The park as a whole might not smell, but most people aren't seeing the whole park, just the parking lots where people are leaving these rotting eggs.
