No matter how you are getting to Denali, I strongly recommend you rent a car. If you take the train or fly into Denali, you can rent a car. The company we used is a small company in Healy, just outside of Denali. The owner of The Keys to Denali, LLC, and the Dome Home, Ann, actually picked us up and our luggage from the train station. She knew we were planning on going to the Denali National Park the next day, so she took us through a dry run. She showed us where we would park the next day (RV lot because the regular lot fills up), took us into the Wilderness Access Center, got our tickets, got maps and reading material, and showed us where to catch the park shuttles. Then we went back to her house/office to fill out paperwork and surprisingly enough we got an upgrade for free to a Cadillac It drove so wonderfully. The benefit of having a car is you can stay further away from the rest of tourists and maybe even cheaper places, and you can drive into Denali Park the first 15 miles. Definitely worth it!! When it was the day to return the car, Ann (owner) told us to bring it back to her house by a certain time, she would take us to the Dog Sled Demonstration and check our bags for us at the train station. This way we had extra time at the park and we could just walk to the station when it was time to catch the train. Great company!!
