white water rafting

We will be in Glacier the last week of June and are wondering if it will be too cold or if the water is to cold to raft?

Good question. No one knows what the weather will be. We do know that the rivers will be high and the water cold. Any of the reputable rafting companies will supply you with wetsuits, so no problem there. The two I know of personally are Glacier Raft Company and Montana Raft Company (see my other posts for details).

Under no circumstances should you try rafting in June on your own unless you are an advanced, experienced rafter or kayaker. You need to know the river in order to safely navigate it by yourself. The guides are trained and well worth the money. (Don't forget to tip your guide!)

Have fun!

Rafting season is in full swing right now on the Forks of the Flathead as well as many other Montana rivers. Fishing is a bit down for now until the water goes down a bit. The fishing window between ice-out and blowup is past but the fun rafting is full on right now. the water is ice cold.
