Visiting Glacier and Waterton

We're considering visiting Glacier late, next Aug.; 2 nights Many Glacier Lodge and 2 nights Lake McDonald Lodge. Is it worth adding a day or so to go up to Waterton? Is it still quick and easy to cross the border, or are the new passport rules causing delays?

Thank you

Yes. Waterton is a great, scenic drive and there are some options for activites while there. Correct documents and you should breeze across the boarder. Seldon more than 2-3 cars in line.

I keep encouraging people to visit Waterton. Take the boat ride; hike at the end of the lake if you're a hiker (Goat Haunt); drive Akamina Parkway and possibly see grizzlies feeding in the evening; enjoy beautiful Cameron Lake at the end of the road; visit the Prince of Wales Hotel. There are a lot of things to do and there are also several nice shops and galleries in the townsite. With passports the crossing was easy both ways last fall.

Well of course I'm going to recommend a quick visit to Waterton! As kelley mentioned, provided you have passports and are US citizens you should not have much of a wait at the border - that particular crossing is not very busy most of the time.
